In the '40s & 50s plumb was the most common boy scout hatchet and they are generally very good, well balanced and taking a good edge Love to see more picks viewed from different angles if you have time. I've seen several people post around here about modding the fireman's hatchet into a small forest axe with good results These get pretty good reviews give. The plumb hatchet / western fixed blade knife combos with a single, shared sheath really bring the bucks I like and occassionally purchase vintage bsa equipment from that era even though i am not as old the stuff i am buying
